We are Historians!
History helps children develop a sense of identity and a chronological framework for understanding significant events and figures. The lessons learned from history can shape their personal choices, attitudes, and values.
At St Paul's, we are eager to explore the past and its impact on our lives. We engage curious minds by posing 'big' questions and facilitating investigation. We offer children the chance to engage in role-play to experience life as it was. We actively promote the handling of artefacts and the analysis of both primary and secondary sources during our topic work. We organise trips to museums and sites of interest to enhance the curriculum and deepen our understanding. History drives many of our termly topics which helps our children make strong links between different areas of their learning.
